The documentary "Cosmopolis: Fine Line", which tells the story of Heybeliada Seminary, met with the audience

Directed by Fatih Öztürk and Okan Şeker from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at the Faculty of Art and Design at Istanbul Kültür University, the documentary covers the period from the opening to the closing of the Heybeliada Seminary , shedding light on Turkey's multicultural structure and historical transformation.
The documentary includes the views of the school's graduates, Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomeos I , Prof. Konstantinos Delikostantis , Derkon Metropolitan Apostol Danilidis , Academician Andonis Chatzopoulos , historian and writer Pelin Batu , Prof. Dr. Salih İnci . With the narrations of the school's graduates, the film reveals not only the history of an educational institution, but also the cosmopolitan past of Istanbul, its religious-cultural and sociological diversity.
Opened in 1844 and ceasing its educational activities in 1971, Heybeliada Seminary operated as an important educational institution during the Ottoman and Republican periods. The documentary ' Kozmopolis: Fine Line ' examines the history of this deep-rooted school while also addressing the political, cultural and social dynamics of two different periods.
The gala night held at Galata Greek Primary School was attended by a large number of people. Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomew, Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, historian and writer Pelin Batu, academics, names from the art world and many guests attended the night, and the screening attracted great attention.
'REFLECTION OF OUR SHARED VALUES' Fatih Öztürk, one of the directors of the film, made a speech at the night and said, "With the documentary Cosmopolis: Thin Line, we have the opportunity to rediscover, understand and tell the magical language of cinema. This documentary is not only a tribute to the past; it is also a call to look to the future with hope. As we watch the story of the Heybeliada Seminary, we feel once again how our common values unite us and how we form a whole in diversity."
Okan Şeker, one of the directors of the film, said, “For centuries, Istanbul has been the intersection of civilizations, a cosmopolis where different beliefs, cultures and languages intertwine. Istanbul’s cosmopolitan structure has always walked on a thin line. The story of the documentary is a reflection of this thin line.”

The documentary, which took a year to shoot, was shot in different locations including the Heybeliada Seminary, the Hagia Triada Monastery, the Greek Patriarchate of Istanbul and Istanbul Civilization University. The documentary covers the school's history in detail with archive footage and testimonies.
Following its premiere, 'Cosmopolis: The Thin Line' is preparing to be shown at national and international film festivals. The documentary is aimed to reach a wide audience and is expected to increase awareness of historical and cultural heritage.
